Central Washington University 2010 Football Camp

Evergreen football will be headed to Ellensburg this June to attend the Central Washington University Football Camp.

The cost of the camp is $150 and all money is due by May 17th.

The 2010 Evergreen Plainsmen will be talking on some new teams this fall. For the first time since 2007 Evergreen will be playing a non league game against a team not from Clark County or Oregon. In fact there are 3 games on the schedule. Capitol of Olympia, Eisenhower of Yakima, and Richland.

Evergreen will play Mountain View in week 1 as a non league game. Evergreen and Mountain View have kicked off the season against each other plenty of times in the history of this rivalry ( ’85-”90). Mountain View won the first 3 games while Evergreen took the final 3. They also played in week 2 of the ’83 and ’84 seasons, both Mountain View wins.

Evergreen will also play Kelso in week 6 in a non league game as Kelso dropped to 3A for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

Plainsmen Come Up Short Vs Skyview

For the second week in a row, Evergreen was a heavy underdog at McKenzie Stadium. This week, Skyview was the one on one gave Evergreen a shot to beat. Well Evergreen led 7-0 in the second quarter following a very impressive 16 play 95 yard TD drive capped off by Marvin Thomas’s 1 yard run. Evergreen cut the lead to 20-14 following a 3rd quarter drive that went 64 yards in 13 plays. Later in the quarter Soph. DB Nick Mace recovered a Skyview fumble just outside the Storm 10. Evergreen was not able to score as RB Richie Townsand was ruled down inches outside the gole line. A late Storm TD made the final score 28-14 in favor of Skyview.

Plainsmen Control Both Sides Of The Line, The Clock, And Beat Heritage 28-21

In a game that very few people even gave the Plainsmen a chance to win, Evergreen not only won, but physically dominated the Heritage Timberwolves!

Evergreen took a 14-7 lead into the break following a pair of 1 yard TD runs from QB Marvin Thomas and RB Quwonte Wallace. A thrid quarter 64 yard punt return by Kyle Cahoon again gave Evergreen a lead this time 21-14. Then with 17 seconds left in the game, Marvin Thomas hit Richie Townsend 25 yards down field, and Townsend did the rest as he ran through would-be Heritage tacklers on his way for a 53 yard game winning TD!

Evergreen is now 9-2 all time vs. Heritage.

Plainsmen Crush Forest Grove 41-6 To Wrap Up Non-league Schedule

After back-to-back setbacks, the Evergreen football team bounced back in a big way. In front of a hungry home crowd the Plainsmen scored early and often vs. the visiting Forest Grove Vikings from Hillsboro Oregon.

QB Marvin Thomas threw for 206 yards and 5 TD in the win. TE Kyle Cahoon hauled in 3 TD’s while Lasean Richardson and Zachariah Bagley had the other Thomas passes. FB Jolon Souchex got the party started with his 3 yard TD run.

Evergreen Falls To Union 45-23

The young Plainsmen just did not have enough Friday night vs the experienced Union Titans.

Not all was bad on the night. Evergreen RB Chase Lawrence had 210 yards rushing and 2 TD. RB Bryan Shirts also had a rushing TD. The defense did not give up all night and let Union know they could hit a few times.
